Construction Activity After Normal Work Hours

From time to time, the project contractor, IMCO General Construction, will need to perform specific work after normal working hours as required by tidal conditions.  A portion of the overall work can only be performed safely at or near low tide for visibility purposes and/or for enhanced protection of the environment.  During winter months, the low tide is often at night.

In those limited cases, the Contractor will submit to the Engineer of Record a request for after hours work detailing the specific work to be performed, the work window and justification as to why the specific work must be completed after normal work hours.  If the Engineer of Record approves, the request is also forwarded to the City of Des Moines Development Services.

In order to keep the Marina's adjacent neighbors informed in advance of scheduled evening/night work, an ALERT will be posted on this website and emails will be sent to those neighbors who wish to provide their email address for this specific purpose.

As always, any questions may be directed to Joe Dusenbury, Harbormaster, or Doreen Torseth, North Marina Combined Projects Contract Administrator.
